Bio: Satomi Kasahara grew up surrounded by Fukiran(Neofinetia falcate) and has been involved with these beautiful historical plants from an early age. In 2006, she began helping her father, Chairman of the Japan Fukiran Society, introduce Fukiran to enthusiasts in the United States.

After traveling between Japan and the U.S. for many years, she moved to California in 2014 and now oversees Seed Engei’s U.S. operations.  She is also a co-founder of the Fukiran Society of America and helps organize and run judging events in California and New Jersey with the support of many dedicated Fukiran enthusiasts.
